Scott Stripling         

Scott Stripling is a self-taught artist, illustrator, and cartoonist living currently in Athens, Georgia. Beyond the work he publishes as Shoot The Moon Comics, his work can be seen in various anthologies, literary journals, and zines, among them are Gigantic Sequins , Hobart (with Colette Arrand), Double Nickels Forever , Raven Chronicles , Synesthesia , Working Stiff , The Atomic Elbow , Zinetendo , Wrestling School, and one of the Fluke anthologies for the Athens, Georgia based Fluke Mini Comics and Zine Expo that he attends each year. He has been reviewed at Rob Clough's Hi-Low website for his Book of Job series, and some of his other minis

 

Scott Stripling's work delves into personal issues of abuse, addiction, and existential crisis. He has a recurring theme of transcendence, believing we as humans are capable of more than we are. His work is influenced by such artists as Marc Chagall, Gary Panter, William S. Burroughs, Joe Coleman, Charles Manson, Anton LeVay, Jack Kirby, The Residents, George Herriman, Bud Fisher, Ub Iwerks, and much more.
